Creator Outreach That Gets Replies
Finding the right creators, judging them by engagement instead of follower count, opening with value, pricing on outcomes, and what to do after a campaign ships.
Find creators two ways, and filter hard
You reach creators either by building a genuine presence in the space so the right ones surface, or by running systematic outreach at volume. The first yields fewer, better leads. The second yields quantity that still has to be filtered down to the ones who fit.
Most teams need both, but neither matters without the filter that comes next.
Judge engagement, not follower count
Follower count is close to irrelevant. What matters is whether a creator gets consistent views and whether their comments read like a real community rather than a wall of emoji.
A creator with twenty-five thousand engaged viewers per video will usually move more product than one with a large, quiet following. Look at the comments before the numbers.
Open with the offer and a real reason
A creator sees a lot of pitches. Lead with the fact that this is paid, keep the message short, say what the product is in a line, and name the specific reason you chose them, drawn from their actual work.
Long pitches get skipped. The message exists to start a conversation, not to close the deal in one shot.
Price on outcomes, structure on milestones
Anchor on a CPM or view-based figure with a view expectation, and split payment across a milestone rather than paying everything up front for a promise. Framed as earning potential tied to performance, it reads better to a serious creator than a flat fee.
Then aim for a repeatable relationship. One good creator you work with five times is worth more than five you use once.
Let the content fit the creator
The best-performing sponsorships do not look like ads. The product appears inside the creator’s normal format and voice, as a tool they actually use, while they stay the point of the video.
Give the format, the hook, and the one thing you need shown. Let them make it theirs. A post that fits their channel outperforms one that interrupts it.
The work is not done when it posts
Read the analytics within the first days while you can still act. Engage from the brand account and answer real questions in the comments to help viewers find their way to the product.
What is off the table is faking it. Seeded fake comments and bought engagement buy nothing durable and cost trust when they are spotted.
